Diablo 4 Ruins of Qara-Yisu

The Ruins of Qara-Yisu is a Stronghold that is festered by demons and followers of Lilith who are ready to kill anything that comes their way. Venture into the Ruins and destroy all the Infernal Spires to bring back the old inhabitants and gain access to new waypoints, vendors, and much more.

This is one of the Strongholds that provide some of the best rewards, so keep on reading as this guide will cover the location, rewards, and how to complete the Ruins of Qara-Yisu.

Diablo 4 Ruins of Qara-Yisu Stronghold location

The Stronghold is located southeast of Dry Steppes just parallel to the Temple of Rot Stronghold. To get there, you have to take the Hidden Overlook waypoint located in Jakha Basin, and just head south from there.

Once you get there though, make sure you have your health potions upgraded as much as you can because the demons that you will face in the Ruins are not going to go down without a fight.

How to complete Ruins of Qara-Yisu in Diablo 4

Ruins of Qara-Yisu - Infernal Spire
Infernal Spires

To conquer Ruins of Qara-Yisu, you have to destroy the three Infernal Spires spread all over the Ruins, then defeat Utulku, the Voice Below, and rekindle the Wanderer’s Shrine.

I recommend that you be at least level 25 before attempting this Stronghold.

The locations of all the Infernal Spires will be highlighted on the map with a skull icon. However, you should be looking toward the northwest, northeast, and south of Stronghold, as this is where they are all located.

Once you get to the first Infernal Spire, you will find out that it is surrounded by a lot of demons and an Elite monster. Make sure to get rid of them first because if you get the Infernal Spire’s health below 25%, then another Elite will spawn and this will become pretty messy. After defeating all the demons, then it is safer to proceed and destroy the first Infernal Spire. After that, just make your way to the second Spire and prepare to fight another set of demons and Elites.

Once all three Infernal Spires are destroyed, make your way toward the chamber of Utulku, the Voice Below, and get ready for a fierce fight with the Shaman.

Utulku, the Voice Below

To defeat Utulku, the Voice Below, you have to avoid getting hit by his Lightning Pools as they deal the most damage. He will also attempt to summon some demons to aid him during battle, and he has a thing to revive any enemies who die on the battlefield, so try getting rid of them as fast as you can.

Apart from his basic attack, he has two abilities.

Utulku Summons
Summons

Ability 1 – Summoning: Utulku will summon demons most of the time throughout the fight. Prioritize defeating them before attacking the boss. Since he will constantly summon demons, the fight can become hectic very fast.

The good thing is that the boss will not summon any Elite monsters, and you only have to worry about smaller foes.

Ability 2 – Lightning Pools: Utulku, the Voice Below will cast Lightning Pools that have a one-second cast duration before they become a danger zone in the shape of a circle for a short duration. Initially in the fight, he will cast only one pool, but as you can see in the image, above, the number can increase to five consecutive Lightning Pools.

The number of Pools will increase as the boss’s health decreases.

Ruins of Qara-Yisu Rewards

Completing Ruins of Qara-Yisu will reward you with 100 renown that contributes to the renown rewards of Dry Steppes. Furthermore, you will get a lot of experience that will help you level up fast and also gain access to a new waypoint along with some new merchants.

You will also be able to find an Altar of Lilith that gives you +2 Willpower for your entire account after activating it. This Altar can be found on the southeastern side of the Stronghold.
