Every region in Diablo 4 is limited to three Strongholds, and it is preferable to do them on a higher level as they reward so much experience, and you will need that experience more when you are above level 40.
One of Hawezar’s Strongholds would be Eriman’s Pyre. This guide will cover how to complete it, where it is located, and the rewards that you get from it.
Diablo 4 Eriman’s Pyre Stronghold location
Eriman’s Pyre is located on the northern side of Hawezar sandwiched between Dismal Foothills and The Writhing Mire. The fastest way to get there is by taking the Wejinhani waypoint and heading east.
When you get to the Stronghold, you will see that it is already set in flame, and no one is there except a man who is set ablaze. Speak with him, and then be prepared to fend off some demons and an Elite monster.
How to conquer Eriman’s Pyre Stronghold in Diablo 4
To complete Eriman’s Pyre, you have to talk to Eriman who can be seen hung and burning in the center of the Stronghold, then defeat the first Elite monster that spawns. This Elite will then drop Villager’s Remains, which should be used to set off one of the four flames that are engulfed around the burning man.
After putting off any of the four flames, a new path will open that leads you to another Elite which should again be defeated to get more Villager’s Remains. Head back to the center and turn off another flame, then repeat this process three more times.
Once all four flames are put off, you will defeat one last Elite and use the Villager’s Remains that it drops to put off the fire that was burning Eriman eternally. This will summon a boss, Duz’agur Eriman’s Bane which you should defeat before you can Rekindle the Wanderer’s Shrine and conquer this Stronghold.
How to defeat Duz’agur Eriman’s Bane
Duz’agur Eriman’s Bane is a boss that looks like Resurrected Malice, but is much stronger and uses fire abilities. A good strategy is to come prepared with fire resistance Elixirs that will help you take less damage.
To defeat Duz’agur, you have to dodge all the barrage of Fireballs that he will constantly shoot, and avoid his explosion attack. His abilities are as follows:
- Linear Attack: The boss will cast a linear attack that will stay on the ground for a short period of time.
- Explosion: Eriman’s Bane will set a bomb that explodes either on himself or on the central Pyre.
- Fireballs: After the explosion, a barrage of fireballs will shoot out from the center of the explosion.
Ability 1 – Linear Attack: The boss will cast a line of fire that will slow you, and deal damage over time if you get in contact with it. This line will stay on the ground for a few seconds, so try moving the fight away from it.
Ability 2 – Explosion: The boss will cast a bomb that explodes either on himself or on the central Pyre. You will have a few seconds to dodge before this bomb explodes and deals a lot of damage.
Ability 3 – Fireballs: When the explosion is done, a flurry of fireballs will shoot out from the center of the explosion. Try to keep your distance from the center so you have enough room to move around as there will be so many fireballs at the same time.
Once you defeat Duz’agur, head to the northwestern chamber and rekindle the Wanderer’s Shrine to complete the Stronghold.
Eriman’s Pyre Rewards
By completing Eriman’s Pyre, you will get the 100 renown points that are tied to it, a lot of experience, and the gear of different rarities that the boss drops. Unfortunately, this Stronghold doesn’t unlock any new vendors or waypoints though.
