The Desolation Hero Points in GW2

Are you an Elementalist trying to unlock the Weaver, or a Guardian trying to unlock the Firebrand? Well, regardless of which class you play, you will have to earn enough Hero Points to unlock your class’s Elite Specialization for Path of Fire.

In this guide, we will go over all the Hero Points in The Desolation, with step-by-step instructions on how to get each one and which waypoint to take to get there.

GW2 The Desolation Hero Points

There are 6 Hero Points in The Desolation. They can all be done solo as you won’t be fighting any Champions. You will only stumble upon Veterans who are easy to defeat, even for the newer players.

Before we begin, I recommend that you have the Jackal and the Springer to help you get to those challenges faster.

1. Awakened Wanderer

  • Location: Poisoned Outcrops
  • Difficulty: Medium
  • Waypoint: The Scourgeway Waypoint [&BHMKAAA=]
  • Instructions: Get on your Jackal and jump on the mountain facing the waypoint. Keep going straight till you stumble upon the hero challenge. Speak with then defeat the Awakened Wanderer to earn The Desolation Hero Points.

2. Shanna the Valorous

Shanna the Valorous

  • Location: Lair of the Forgotten
  • Difficulty: Medium
  • Waypoint: Lair of the Forgotten Waypoint [&BMEKAAA=]
  • Instructions: From the Lair of the Forgotten Waypoint, get on your Springer and jump up the mountain facing the waypoint. Simply keep jumping while making your way toward the hero challenge. Once there, Speak with and defeat Shanna the Valorous to obtain the hero points.

3. The Bone Palace

  • Location: Joko’s Domain
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Waypoint: Joko’s Domain Waypoint [&BAsKAAA=]
  • Instructions: There aren’t any Veterans that you have to face here, so simply make your way toward Joko’s Domain, and get on your Springer to climb up to the place of power. Interact with it to complete the hero challenge and get one of The Desolation Hero Points.

4. Gnarled Tree

  • Location: Broken Shelf
  • Difficulty: Medium
  • Waypoint: Sand Jackal Run Waypoint [&BHcKAAA=]
  • Instructions: Even though you can use a Raptor or Springer to get a cross, having a Jackal allows you to use the Sand Portal facing the waypoint that allows you to land directly on the hero challenge. Interact with the Gnarled Tree to summon a Veteran Giant Jacaranda.

5. The Mouth of Torment

The Mouth of Torment

  • Location: The Ruptured Heart
  • Difficulty: Medium
  • Waypoint: The Darklands Waypoint [&BKMKAAA=]
  • Instructions: Take The Darklands Waypoint and make your way into the Forged’s Citadel. Use your Springer and Raptor to navigate the Citadel until you reach the central platform. Defeat the Veteran Forged Officer, and then interact with the place of power to obtain this hero point. You can also get this hero point while doing the meta event for this map.

6. Broken Egg

Broken Egg

  • Location: Acrid Springs
  • Difficulty: Medium
  • Waypoint: The Darklands Waypoint [&BKMKAAA=]
  • Instructions: Take The Darklands Waypoint again, but this time use your Springer to go north towards the Sulfur Quarry. Once there, interact with the Broken Egg to bring out some mad harpies, and defeat them to get the hero points.

That’s all The Desolation Hero Points in a nutshell. Next up would be the Hero Points in Domain of Vabbi.
