Are you trying to get your first set of legendary gear and are not sure where to begin? Well, if you are a PvE player, then you should aim for the PvE Legendary Armor.
Even though a lot of time and gold is needed to craft a single legendary, it will be worth your while by the end of this journey.
What is GW2 PvE Legendary Armor
Legendary PvE Armor is the be-all and end-all of gear. By getting it, you won’t need to farm for any other piece of gear of a specific weight. This is due to the fact that you can change stats indefinitely for free, and you can copy the item to any other character who can use it.
Unlike PvP Legendary Armor and WvW Legendary Armor, the PvE version has a morph effect when you get in and out of combat.
You can check the Heavy Perfected Envoy Armor’s morph effect in the video below.

How to get Raid Legendary Armor – Perfected Envoy Armor
To get one piece of Perfected Envoy Armor, you need to get the following material and then place them in the Mystic Forge:
- Precursor piece (Refined Envoy Armor)
- Gift of Dedication
- Gift of Prowess
- Gift of Prosperity
If you want to have a checklist of all the items that you need in one organized place, I recommend checking out GW2Efficiency.
Before we jump into all the bigger pieces of the puzzle, you need to know about Legendary Insights and how they affect your journey to obtain Perfected Envoy Armor.
How to get Legendary Insights
Legendary Insights can be obtained by defeating bosses in Raids and obtaining their chests, or by completing the Weekly Cantha Strikes achievement.
The raids method can only be done once a week though. If you already obtained the Insights from a raid boss this week, then you have to wait until next week before you can get them again.
You need a total of 150 Legendary Insights to get a full set of Legendary Raid Armor. You can get a maximum of 31 Legendary Insights per week for completing all raids and getting the EoD Strike mission achievement.
Given that you collect 31 Legendary Insights on a weekly basis, then you will need 5 weeks to get a full set of armor. However, if you skip the weekly End of Dragons Strike Mission achievement, then it will take you 6 weeks instead.
You can check how many Legendary Insights you own from your Wallet, or if you are in any raid area, then directly from the Inventory.
Step 1: Getting the Refined Envoy Armor
This precursor is different than the other Legendary Armor precursors. This one is tied to a collection and cannot be purchased with gold. You have to complete the achievements Envoy Armor I: Experimental Armor and Envoy Armor II: Refined Armor to get a final chest that rewards you with all the precursor pieces for a specific weight class.
Warning! Do not try to change the stats of a precursor in the Mystic Forge because it can’t be used to craft the PvE Legendary Armor piece anymore if you do. Wait until you craft the legendary item then change it to whatever you want.
Once you complete the Envoy Armor II: Refined Armor collection, getting the legendaries for other class weights will be easier because you can purchase a recipe from a Master craftsman that allows you to craft the precursors using an Envoy Insignias.
Step 2: Getting the Gift of Prosperity
You need to collect and combine all the following items in the Mystic Forge to create the Gift of Prosperity:
- Gift of Craftsmanship
- 15 Mystic Clovers
- Gift of Condensed Might
- Gift of Condensed Magic
Gift of Craftsmanship
The Gift of Craftsmanship is a material that can be purchased using Provisioner Tokens from Faction Provisioners that can be found in most cities.
In Lion’s Arch, you can head over to the Skritt Trader located in Commodore’s Quarter and purchase one Gift of Craftsmanship for 50 Provisioner Tokens.
Mystic Clovers
Getting Mystic Clovers is crucial for any legendary item that you want to craft, and there are many ways in which you can get them. You can collect Clovers from PvP and WvW reward tracks, Achievements, the Mystic Forge, Fractals of the Mists, and this is just to name a few.
You can check out our dedicated Mystic Clover guide if you want to know more about how you can obtain this material.
To craft the Gifts of Condensed Might and Condensed Magic, you have to purchase prerequisite gift recipes first. Those recipes can be purchased from Miyani who is located next to the Mystic Forge in Lion’s Arch, or any Mystic Forge merchant for that matter.
Each gift costs 10 gold, and you need eight of them. So all eight will set you back 80 gold, but the good news is that these gifts are bound to your account, so you buy them once and you won’t have to buy them anymore in the future.

- Â 5 Auric Ingots
- Â 5 Reclaimed Metal Plates
- Â 5 Chak Eggs
- Â Gift of the Pact
Auric Ingots
Auric Ingots can be obtained from Grand and Great Exalted Chests in Auric Basin, and from Noxious Pods in Dragon’s Stand. Alternatively, if you have an Exalted Weapon Recipe, and you are a Huntsman, Weaponsmith, or Artificer, then you can craft an Auric Ingot for 30 Piles of Auric Dust and 30 Auric Sliver.

Step 5: Forging the Raids Legendary Gear
Once you have the Gift of Competitive, Gift of Dedication, Gift of Prosperity, and the Envoy Armor piece in your inventory, head over to the Mystic Forge, place them all inside, and hit the Forge button.
Congratulations, you just got your Raid Legendary Armor. All you need to do now is repeat the process five more times and you are square.
