Provisioner Tokens are a currency in Guild Wars 2 that are used to craft Legendary Armor, Runes, and Sigils. They are somewhat of a time-gated currency that can only be obtained from special merchants called Faction Provisioners who can be found in major cities all over Tyria.

How to use Provisioner Tokens in Guild Wars 2
Provisioner Tokens are used to purchase multiple items like the Bloodbound weapon skins. However, players tend to farm them to obtain the Gift of Craftsmanship. This is one of the main gifts needed to craft the Gift of Prosperity.
Moreover, you can buy some materials and other items using Provisioner Tokens. Here is a list of everything you can buy:

How to get GW2 Provisioner Tokens
Provisioner Tokens can be obtained either by trading certain items to Faction Provisioners or by defeating challenge mode raid bosses. Every raid boss you defeat will reward all the players in the raid with 2 Provisioner Tokens each.
You can get a maximum of 26 tokens from raids on a weekly basis, and a maximum of 76 tokens from Faction Provisioners on a daily basis.
When it comes to trading items for Guild Wars 2 Provisioner Tokens from the Faction Provisioners, then there are two things to consider. Some items can only be traded once per day for 1 Provisioner Token in return. However, other items can be traded as many times as you want per day, and they are the following:

- Glob of Elder Spirit Residue
- Spool of Thick Elonian Cord
- Charged Quartz Crystal
- Research Notes

Faction Provisioners in Horn of Maguuma
With the release of Secrets of the Obscure, you can now get Provisioner Tokens from vendors located in the maps of SOTO. They will only trade one of their available items before they lock you out from buying any more tokens.
You can choose to trade a weapon for 5 tokens, or a material for 1 token.
