Are you at a point in Guild Wars 2 where you want to get a Legendary Armor? Are you a PvP enthusiast? If you answered yes to any of those questions, then you are probably interested in getting the PvP Legendary Armor.
What is PvP Legendary Armor in Guild Wars 2
Legendary PvP Armor is the ultimate luxury when it comes to gear in Guild Wars 2. This kind of armor takes a lot of time and gold investment as it is considered the end-game gear of the game.
Even though it has the same stats as Ascended Gear, you still might want to get it because it provides a level of convenience and functionality that will change your gaming experience.
Benefits
The biggest benefit that you will get from owning a set of PvP Legendary Armor is the fact that you can change its stats whenever you want with no fee or catch. The only condition is that you have to be out of combat.
You can also change the skin of this armor without spending Transmutation charges, and any class that shares the same weight type of the armor, can create a copy of it and equip it at any time.
Drawbacks
Unlike Raids Legendary Armor, the PvP counterpart has a pretty stale design to it, and getting that set would be mostly for functionality rather than fashion. Even if you shoot for the more advanced Mistforged version, then you will only get a glow behind your back that will clip with most of the back items in the game.
Further down in the guide, we will be explaining both Mistforged and basic versions of the armor and the difference between them.
How to get GW2 PvP Legendary Armor?
To get one piece of PvP Legendary Armor, you need to get the following materials and then place them in the Mystic Forge:
- A piece of Ascended Glorious Hero’s armor, Ardent Glorious Hero’s Armor, or Mistforged Glorious Hero’s armor.
- Gift of Competitive Dedication
- Gift of Competitive Prowess
- Gift of Competitive Prosperity
If you want to have a checklist of all the items that you need in one organized place, I recommend checking out GW2Efficiency.
There are two types of PvP Legendary Armor that you can get in Guild Wars 2. They both function exactly the same, but the basic version does not give you this Legendary effect that you are looking for, however, the latter does, but it costs much more and will take more time.
The basic Legendary PvP armor can be obtained by using the Ascended Glorious Hero’s armor, or the Ardent Glorious Hero’s Armor. Both sets can be used as precursors to craft PvP Legendary Gear. The more advanced version can be crafted with the Mistforged Glorious Hero’s Armor.
Ardent and Mistforged Glorious Hero’s Armor can be purchased from the Ascended Armor League Vendor. The Ascended Glorious Hero’s armor can only be obtained from the Glorious Victor’s Armor Box.
This is a chest that can be purchased for 10 PvP Tournament Vouchers which is a currency that can be obtained by being placed between 1st and 4th position in the monthly automated tournaments.
How to get PvP League Tickets and Ascended Shards of Glory
Ascended Shards can be obtained by earning pips and completing the PvP League Reward Track. Every chest will earn you a specific number of Shards, and the amount you earn increases as the level of the chest increases. Once you unlock all the chests, you can still earn Ascended Shards of Glory through the repeatable Byzantium chest.
PvP League Tickets are also obtained from the PvP League Reward Track, but this currency is time-gated, and once you unlock all the chests, you won’t be able to get any more Tickets for the remainder of the Season.
You can get 100 PvP League Tickets per season, and every season lasts for 2 months. An additional 35 PvP League Tickets can be obtained during mini seasons that run only for 2 weeks.
Based on these calculations, you will need a total of 24 weeks to get a full set of PvP Legendary Armor if you don’t participate in mini-seasons, and 20 to 22 weeks if you do.
Step 1: Getting the Ardent Glorious Hero’s Armor
As I mentioned before, the Ardent Glorious Hero’s Armor can be purchased from the Ascended Armor League Vendor for Grandmaster Marks, Ascended Shards of Glory, Shards of Glory, and 2 gold. The amount of each currency varies based on the piece of gear you are buying with the armor piece costing the most.
Warning! Do not try to change the stats of a precursor in the Mystic Forge because it can’t be used to craft the PvP Legendary Armor piece anymore if you do. Wait until you craft the legendary item then change it to whatever you want.
Mistforged Glorious Hero’s Armor Type Fact
Not only does the Mistforged Glorious Hero’s Armor cost 1,200 more Ascended Shards of Glory, but you have to be at least PvP Rank 100 and already unlocked the Ardent Glorious Hero’s Armor before you can purchase the Mistforged variant.
Further down in the guide, we will cover how you can get the PvP Legendary Gear using the Ardent Glorious Hero’s Armor as an example, and all the numbers will account for only one piece of armor.
Step 2: Getting the Gift of Competitive Prosperity
You need to collect and combine all the following items in the Mystic Forge to create the Gift of Competitive Prosperity:
- Mist Core Fragment
- 15 Mystic Clovers
- Gift of Condensed Might
- Gift of Condensed Magic
Mist Core Fragment
Mist Core Fragments can be obtained from the final reward of the Glorious Reward Track. You are guaranteed one Mist Core Fragment but also have the option to get one more if you don’t want the Exotic Glorious Armor pieces.
I actually recommend that you always go with two Mist Core Fragments because the Exotic Glorious Armor is not a precursor and is in fact not needed to unlock the Precursor. This way you just have to complete the reward track three times instead of six.
Mystic Clovers
There are so many ways in which you can collect Mystic Clovers like completing PvP and WvW reward tracks, mixing Mystic Coins, Globs of Ectoplasm, Obsidian Shards, and Mystic Crystals in the Mystic Forge.
You can check out all the ways in which you can get Mystic Clovers through our dedicated guide.
To be able to craft the Gifts of Condensed Might and Magic, you have to first purchase the prerequisite recipes from Miyani. Every gift costs 10 gold, and you need eight gifts, so buying them all will set you back 80 gold, but this is a one-time purchase and then can be used whenever you want to craft the Gifts of Condensed Might and Magic.

You need to collect and combine all the following items in the Mystic Forge to create the Gift of Competitive Prowess:
- Record of League Victories
- Eldritch Scroll
- 50 Obsidian Shards
- Cube of Stabilized Dark Energy
Record of League Victories
Can be purchased for 30 PvP League Tickets at the Ascended Armor League Vendor which can be found in the Mists lobby area.
Eldritch Scroll
Can be purchased for 50 Spirit Shards at Miyani.
Obsidian Shards
- Purchased for or converted from various currencies
- Acquired from PvP Reward Tracks and WvW Reward Tracks
Check the wiki for more information on how to get Obsidian Shards.
Cube of Stabilized Dark Energy
You can get a Cube of Stabilized Dark Energy by crafting it using 1 Ball of Dark Energy and 75 Stabilizing Matrices at the following crafting stations:
- Artificer
- Huntsman
- Weaponsmith
- Armorsmith
- Leatherworker
- Tailor
Ball of Dark Energy can be obtained from salvaging Ascended Armor, and the Stabilizing Matrices can be obtained from fractals and by salvaging Ascended rings and trinkets.
Step 4: Getting the Gift of Competitive Dedication
You need to collect and combine all the following items in the Mystic Forge to create the Gift of Competitive Dedication:
- Record of League Participation – 30 PvP League Tickets
- Glob of Condensed Spirit Energy – 100 Spirit Shards
- Star of Glory – 400 Ascended Shards of Glory
- Jar of Distilled Glory – 100 Shards of Glory
All the items can be purchased from the Ascended Armor League Vendor.
Step 5: Combining it all
Once you have everything in your inventory, take the Gift of War Competitive, Gift of Competitive Dedication, Gift of Competitive Prosperity, and the Precursor to the Mystic Forge, place them all inside, and press the Forge button.
Congratulations, your PvP Legendary Armor can be found in your inventory. Now just do that five more times and you are good to go.
