New Kaineng City is the second map you will visit in the End of Dragons expansion. It is a huge city powered by Jade technology and can be a bit confusing to roam around.
To make your exploring journey a bit easier, this guide will go over the Hero Points in New Kaineng City by covering which waypoints to take, the difficulty of every hero challenge, and instructions on how to complete them.
GW2 New Kaineng City Hero Points
There are 9 Hero Points in New Kaineng City. All of them are solo-friendly, however, you will stumble upon the occasional Elite, and these ones can be pretty tough for newer players. Nevertheless, if you need any help, you can always bring a friend or ask people by using the map chat, I’m sure players will be more than happy to help.
Every Hero Challenge in New Kaineng City will give you 10 Hero Points.
Before we start, I recommend getting the Springer which can be obtained directly from this map. Moreover, having a Skimmer could also be useful as most of this city is mostly water.
1. Engineer Hu
- Location: Baedal Hill
- Difficulty: Medium
- Waypoint: Ministry Ward Waypoint [&BBkNAAA=]
- Instructions: From the waypoint, make your way west by crossing the river and climbing up the stairs to the hero challenge. Once you’re there, speak with Engineer Hu, and prepare to fight an Elite Volatile Jade Spark. Defeating it will earn you this New Kaineng City Hero Point.
2. Jade Monument
- Location: Power Plant
- Difficulty: Easy
- Waypoint: Ministry Ward Waypoint [&BBkNAAA=]
- Instructions: If you are still at Engineer Hu, then simply walk straight to the Jade Monument and all you have to do is interact with the place of power to complete the hero challenge.
3. Ministry of Archives
- Location: Soojung Heights
- Difficulty: Medium
- Waypoint: Ministry Ward Waypoint [&BBkNAAA=]
- Instructions: From the Ministry Ward, head south until you find a set of stairs that can take you up to the city. After you have taken the first set of stairs, take a right and cross the bridge then take the second set of stairs that are designed with neon green lighting. From there, use your Springer to keep climbing up to the Ministry of Archive where you have to confront an Elite Purist Junker before taking the place of power.
4. Garden Scaffolding
- Location: Bori Ward
- Difficulty: Easy
- Waypoint: Ministry Ward Waypoint [&BBkNAAA=]
- Instructions: That’s one of the simpler New Kaineng City Hero Points, to get it, simply head northeast, and cross the river to get to the other side of the city. You will find the place of power on a small ledge, simply use your Springer to get up there, or use the small boxes to the left.
5. Lab District Terrace
- Location: North Lab
- Difficulty: Medium
- Waypoint: Lutgardis Plaza Waypoint [&BCANAAA=]
- Instructions: From the plaza, head west till you get to the river, then go north. Halfway to the hero challenge, you will see a set of stairs that you should take to get up to the terrace. Once you are all the way up, turn 360 degrees and you will see the terrace right across, and to get there either use a Raptor or a Springer. Defeat the Elite there to talk to the place of power and earn the hero point.
6. Veteran Purist Necromancer
- Location: Grub Lane
- Difficulty: Easy
- Waypoint: Lutgardis Plaza Waypoint [&BCANAAA=]
- Instructions: From the waypoint, go east across the river till you reach Grub Lane, then talk to Veteran Purist Necromancer to fight him and earn the hero points.
7. Old Kaineng Ruins
- Location: Old Kaineng
- Difficulty: Medium
- Waypoint: Lutgardis Plaza Waypoint [&BCANAAA=]
- Instructions: From the plaza, take the river to the east and make your way to Old Kaineng. Once you get to a place filled with old structures, get on your Springer and start climbing up the rocks one floor at a time. Once you reach the hero challenge, defeat the Elite Unchained Acolyte, and interact with the place of power to get the hero point.
8. New Kaineng City Limits
- Location: Petrified Woods
- Difficulty: Medium
- Waypoint: Lutgardis Plaza Waypoint [&BCANAAA=]
- Instructions: Cross the river south from the waypoint and keep going toward the portal that takes you to Echovald Wilds. Defeat the Elite that is protecting the place of power, then interact with it to get the hero point.
9. Sotdae Landing Lookout
- Location: Sotdae Landing
- Difficulty: Easy
- Waypoint: Promenade Waypoint [&BMYMAAA=]
- Instructions: Leaving the easiest for last, go back to the first waypoint in New Kaineng City and head south till you reach a small island. From there, use your Springer to climb up the mountain till you reach a small temple where the place of power will be waiting for you.
